Thigh & Buttock Lift

Outer Thigh Lift & Buttock Lift in Sydney

Are you considering an outer thigh & buttock lift in Sydney?

Are you sick of the extra loose skin and fat on your outer thighs & buttocks? Have you been working hard at the gym and not seeing improvements? Do you feel that you have restricted choices of clothes due to your saddle bags? A buttock lift may seem like a drastic measure, but it may be the answer for you.

But I’m working so hard – surely my butt will tone up with enough work at the gym?

All of us are genetically predisposed to store fat preferentially at different parts of our bodies. The abdomen, love handles, buttocks and inner thighs are all common spots that people find difficult to lose fat even when the rest of them is thin or lean.

The buttock is usually stretched by one of two means – either loss of skin tone or increased fat. Once fat is lost, the degree to which the buttock & lateral thigh skin retracts to its initial state depends on a handful of factors – genetics, tone in the remaining muscles, the amount of fat between the skin and muscle, and the remaining structural integrity or tone of the skin.

The main factor that will prevent a buttock from flattening is loss of skin tone. Although you can strengthen the buttock muscles and lose the overlying fat, there is no method (other than surgery) of tightening the overlying skin, especially if it has stretch marks. A thigh & buttock lift in Sydney can allow your hard work at the gym to show.

What is involved in a buttock lift?

Like many operations, a thigh lift needs to address several components to achieve the best results. Addressing one component without considering the others is likely to provide a sub-optimal result.

Your skin tone, position of fat, muscle position and tone, and any prior scars will help determine which technique or pattern will give you the best results.  Additionally your needs such as ability to take time of work and sports and the importance of scar position and length will need to be considered. When you come for a consultation about a thigh & buttock lift in Sydney, Dr Gavin Sandercoe will discuss your options and which would work best for you.

Will liposuction only work?

Very few patients will have a great result from liposuction only. Without removing any skin damaged by stretch marks, the most likely result is a thigh that is less fatty but more floppy. It is like wearing an old jacket (or sleeping bag) where the filling has been compressed or worn out, but the layers on either side have not been changed.

Will a buttock lift help flatten my inner thighs?

Yes, but to only to a small extent. A buttock lift shifts outer thigh tissue upwards, so it has only a small effect on the inner thigh.

When should I think about a thigh & buttock lift in Sydney?

The ideal time for a buttock lift is after your weight has been stable for a year or so. The closer you are to your ideal weight, the better your result will be and the longer it will last. And the happier you will be!
