Breast Augmentation Cost
Breast Augmentation in Sydney
What is the cost for a breast augmentation in Sydney?
Like all surgical procedures, a breast augmentation in Sydney is a complex procedure involving care by multiple different medical professionals, as well as the use of hospital operating facilities and a variety of equipment and supplies. That means there are a few different elements to take into consideration when billing for a Breast Augmentation Operation. The total fees for a breast augmentation in Sydney include:
• The Surgeon’s Fee (+/- Assistant’s fee)
• The Anaesthetist’s Fee
• The Hospital/ Facility Fee (includes both Day Surgery Accommodation & Theatre Fee)
• The Implants + Post Surgery Garments
Taking into account all of these prices, breast augmentation costs are mostly affected by your choice of implants. At your consultation, you can ask about the costs of various types of breast implants if this will be a factor in your decision.
The total fee for a breast augmentation can vary somewhat between patients, depending on the exact procedures chosen, the patient’s other medical needs, and similar factors. However, we can give an estimate for the total cost. When you visit your Specialist Plastic Surgeon in Sydney for your consultation, you will receive a more detailed and personalised estimate of what the costs will be for your breast augmentation.

We believe that there is no substitute for the safety of using an established brand of implants, so we do not use implants that are new to the market, irrespective of the costs. See our page on Breast Augmentation Safety. The facility fees vary from place to place, and over time. We are vigilant in watching for options that will save our patients money without compromising results or safety.
Breast augmentation is considered a cosmetic procedure. This means it is not covered by medical insurance and therefore no money can be claimed back from your private health fund or Medicare to help cover the cost of your breast augmentation in Sydney.
Some of the adjunctive breast procedures are classified as reconstructive procedures and have a Medicare item number allocated to them, so your health fund may cover some of your costs. Some funds require documentary photographic evidence to be approved by Medicare prior to reimbursing their members. Please discuss this with our practice manager when we are providing you with a tailored quote of costs.
The facility fees vary from place to place and over time, and this can affect your overall costs for the procedure. We are aware that finances are a significant consideration for many patients, and we do our best to keep your costs as low as possible. We are vigilant in watching for options that will save our patients money.
However, we will never compromise results or safety to save money. Doing so would go against our ethics, and it would also end up costing more in the end, because additional procedures would be needed to fix the problems created. It’s worth paying the cost for a safe procedure that delivers the results you’re looking for, rather than cutting corners.
Keep in mind that the above cost is only an estimate. Your costs could be higher, and will depend on whether or not you have private health insurance and which type of insurance. Dr Sandercoe cannot predict your exact costs for your breast augmentation in Sydney without examining you and determining your personal situation. To get a more personalised cost estimate for your breast augmentation, a consultation with your Specialist Plastic Surgeon is necessary.
