Like all procedures, there are a few elements to take into consideration when billing for Breast Augmentation. The fees include:

•    The Surgeon’s Fee (+/- Assistant’s fee)
•    The Anaesthetist’s Fee
•    The Hospital/ Facility Fee (includes both Day Surgery Accommodation & Theatre Fee)
•    The Implants + Post Surgery Garments

Taking into account all of these prices, breast augmentation costs are mostly affected by your choice of implants.

Uninsured: $10 900 – $12 500 incl. GST

We believe that there is no substitute for the safety of using an established brand of implants, so we do not use implants that are new to the market, irrespective of the costs. We are vigilant in watching for options that will save our patients money without compromising results or safety.

Breast Augmentation is considered a cosmetic procedure. This means it is not covered by medical insurance and therefore no money can be claimed back from your private health fund or Medicare.

Some of the adjunctive breast procedures are classified as reconstructive procedures and have a Medicare item number allocated to them, so your health fund may cover some of your costs. Some funds require documentary photographic evidence to be approved by Medicare prior to reimbursing their members. Please discuss this with our practice manager when we are providing you with a tailored quote of costs.
