In this video, Dr. Gavin Sandercoe of Norwest Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery in Sydney details what Abdominoplasty procedure is all about and the effect is has on women after pregnancies.

Abdominoplasty is the removal of excess skin and fat from the abdomen. Women that are younger bounce back quickly after pregnancies but older women with pregnancies not far apart don’t get the time to get their six pack muscles together again. It is here that Abdominoplasty helps them a lot as otherwise they would have to rely on their lower back muscles to hold their posture straight. This results in lower back pain which aggravates as the day wears on.

Another thing is that women after tightening of muscles, have any pelvic floor issues after pregnancies also sorted out. The satisfaction rate of Abdominoplasty Sydney is very very high and Dr. Sandercoe says that once women get over their initial discomfort, their core strength and ability improves a lot.

Abdominoplasty is the removal of excess skin and fat from an abdomen. The key step in this procedure to getting a functional result is visualizing all the six pack muscle and restitching it back together after separation. Women who have commonly tell me that after they have had children that their core strength is short. And we know that when women have kids, are younger and few apart tend to bounce back fairly well, women that are a little bit older and have got kids fairly close together tend to have basic press muscles stretched apart and then they are back in the pregnancy round and so they actually don’t have much of a chance to get their six pack muscles together again.

Six pack muscles that are separated have got several functional problems. So the most important thing is that if you’ve got no strength here, then you are relying on all your muscles in your lower back to hold your posture straight. It’s very very common that we hear mums often have lower back pain, gets worsened at the end of the day, they’ve need to lie down. That’s the thing.

The other thing that happens is when my strength in the finer muscles, in the finer core the post drops out and the important thing about that is that there is the bladder neck over the bladder which makes the urethra which is the chief that takes urine to the outside. It’s got a natural kick- in which helps the concurrence but rotating the bladder out, then what happens is that it straightens that so again it is very very common after pregnancies that in-between pelvic floor issues as well as this toll to the pelvis. Mums tell me that they have to get a little bit of stress and confidence. Fixing the six pack muscles back together again, tighten that up, it’s got a very very high rate of fixing those problems.

Very very high rate of satisfaction with Abdominoplasty operations, you know, women don’t want to feel like they’ve probably still got their pregnancy fat. They also tell me that very very commonly they spend the first couple of weeks with this new tightening of their front and back, can’t stretch out, get used to the new position that’s in. But once everything settles out, they tell me that you know, their core strength and ability to do things really really has improved.
