Lactobotanical Peels (Lactic Acid)

Lactobotanical Peels in Sydney

Aspects Lactobotanical Peel in Sydney, Program $300

Lactic acid is an Alpha-Hydroxy Acid (AHA) derived from milk, which is combined with Canadian Willowherb (an anti inflammatory) to create a unique peel with minimal downtime for recovery.

The combination of these ingredients targets the epidermis (the uppermost layer of the skin), breaking down the glue that holds the skin cells together. This enables a faster cell turn-over, resulting in a more youthful appearance to the skin as the healthier layers of skin are brought to the surface more quickly. Chemical peels with lactic acid are known as lactobotanical peels in Sydney.

An alternative to lactic acid is glycolic acid. Lactic acid is a great skin renewal and collagen building agent, and has several distinct advantages over glycolic acid. These include less irritation, and greater effectiveness in treating acne, hyperpigmentation, and dehydration. Lactic acid has a long history of use as a skin treatment – it’s said that Cleopatra took baths in sour milk (which has a lot of lactic acid) to keep her skin beautiful.

Who should choose a lactobotanical peel in Sydney?

Lactobotanical peels are suitable for most skin types. This type of peel can produce noticeable results for a variety of skin conditions, including epidermal hyperpigmentation (darkening of the skin as a result of damage), sun damage, mild acne, congestion, dull or lifeless skin, and dehydration.

Lactobotanical Peels in Sydney are also used in combination with other treatments, to enhance the overall effect on the skin. A lactobotanical peel is highly recommended one week after the injection of dermal fillers. This is also a great treatment to have prior to starting a course of Retinol Peels, which are more intense. The lactobotanical peel prepares the skin for the more intense treatment by stimulating its regenerative and healing properties.

What is the procedure for getting a lactobotanical peel in Sydney?

Lactobotanical peels come in a variety of strengths. They have a pH of 2.9-3.15, with lactic acid concentrations of 20%, 30%, 40% and 60%. We begin with the 20% strength peel (the most mild), and increase it every two weeks according to your skin reaction. This allows us to find the best peel for your skin, while minimising the risk of getting side effects because of a peel that’s too strong.

A course of 3 lactobotanical peels in Sydney is recommended, and then the skin is re-assessed to determine if further treatments are required. For many patients, one peel just isn’t enough to fully compensate for years of skin damage

It is important to prepare the skin for 2 weeks prior to the first peel with Aspect Dr Skin Care. This will help to achieve the best results, because your skin will be ready to receive the peel. If the full program of 3 treatments is purchased, an Aspect Dr Starter Pack is included free of charge to enable your skin to benefit from the peels with the best results. The combination of skin preparation and 3 lactobotanical peels in Sydney will provide great results for most patients.

Individual peels are $100 per treatment.
