With 21st Century technology, the Limelight Facial focuses on improving skin tone and surface imperfections associated with ageing and photodamage. This includes not only sun damage and pigmentation (brown spots), but also can target tiny veins, redness, as well as improving the appearance of rosacea.

This is a non invasive, skin rejuvenating treatment, which combines speed and versatility. The Intense Pulsed Light uses multiple wavelengths to treat the affected area and can vary between 520 – 1100 nanometres. This variation enables the limelight to selectivity treat the brown and/or red pigmented areas, heating them and causing the therapeutic effect.

Most patients describe the feeling as a ‘mild pinching’ sensation where topical anaesthetic is generally not required as the limelight facial has a built in cooling system.

Immediately after your treatment, brown lesions will darken and your skin may appear slightly red and mildly swollen. This can be covered with mineral make up and generally will only last a few hours. Over the next week to three weeks, the darkened spots will then flake off, diffuse redness will decrease and your uneven skin complexion will improve.

It is essential to avoid sun exposure and artificial tanning after and between treatments to avoid new sun damage.

An initial consultation is required a minimum of 48 hours prior to your first treatment. During this consultation, a test patch will be performed, any questions you have will be answered and clinical photos are taken to monitor your progress and results.

Treatment times will vary depending on the area being treated (face, neck and/or décolleté), and 1-3 treatments is usually sufficient to see results. Treatments should be spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Results from a full series of Limelight treatments last approximately one year, however maintenance treatments are recommended every 6 months.
